In Mozilla, the favicons are cached, so when one of my sites > has any amount downtime, it gets stuck with that horrible red P > icon!!! The favicon is referenced in the error templates: fk@TP51 ~ $cd /usr/jails/privoxy-jail/usr/local/etc/privoxy/templates/ && grep error-favicon.ico * blocked: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon"> cgi-error-404: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> cgi-error-bad-param: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> cgi-error-disabled: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> cgi-error-file: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> cgi-error-file-read-only: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> cgi-error-modified: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> cgi-error-parse: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> connect-failed: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> forwarding-failed: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> no-such-domain: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> untrusted: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="@default-cgi@error-favicon.ico"> Removing those lines should stop the browser from requesting it. As the favicon URL uses Privoxy's CGI address, it seems strange to me that your browser doesn't update its cache once you revisit the page, though. Fabian |
