Initial Comment:
I've managed to build a pivoxy pkg from source with PackageMaker 
2.1, included with OSX 10.4.6. But for this to work the following 
adjustments had to be made:

in osxsetup/pkgres:
copy Privoxy.post_install to postinstall
copy Privoxy.post_upgrade to postupgrade
copy Privoxy.pre_upgrade to preupgrade

I think this changed in newer versions of PackageMaker.
This version of PackageMaker can't use the pmsp package file, so a 
new Single Package has to be created.

Here's what I did

- Set Root to osxsetup/files
- Set Default Location to /Library/Privoxy
- Set Extras to osxsetup/pkgres

And on the Contents tab, I clicked File Permissions -> Apply 
recommendations.
Then I build the package.

Privoxy won't start though, because it specifically asks for 3.0.3 on line 
368 in /Library/Privoxy/default.action.

I have a Macbook Pro, and I'm willing to help to test things (and maybe 
create an Universal Binary).

Is it possible for you to create the files postinstall, preupgrade and 
postupgrade in the module osxsetup as described above? Maybe you can also 
add
http://rubenkerkhof.com/privoxy.pmproj.zip. This is the project file for 
PackageMaker in 10.4.6.

I think this bug can be closed, since I managed to build a package for 10.4.6 
Intel from the 3.0.3 source. See bug #1510938 for more details.

Hi, Ruben!  Thanks for giving it a try.

As for the version information, you probably checked code
out of HEAD or 3_0_branchpoint.  You want to check code out
of v_3_0_3.  Check config.h for #define VERSION_* type
definitions.  You'll probably find them all set to zeroes.

I think the developer's guide has some good information on
all the various bits that have to be in place for doing
release-grade stuff here:

Give that a try (noting that SourceForge has changed CVS
hostnames on us, but you've already figured that part out :-)
