Category: new feature Group: None Status: Open Resolution: Accepted Priority: 5 Submitted By: Fritz Elfert (felfert) Assigned to: Andreas Oesterhelt (oes) Summary: Added virus-scan capability Initial Comment: Hi, Here is a patch that adds the ability of scanning for viruses. There are 3 new config options: This defines the commandline for running the scanner. Exactly one %s is allowed which gets replaced by the path of the file to scan. E.g.: virus-scanner /usr/sbin/antivir -q -z %s This defines a directory where the temporary file is written in order to scan it. For speed-reasons, if possible put that on a ram-disk. E.g.: virus-scandir /dev/shm This defines the return-code of the scanner for clean files. Everything else is considered to contain a virus. E.g.: virus-clean-result 0 I have this running here for approx 3 months now without probs so it should be pretty stable... -Fritz ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-01-25 11:48 Message: Logged In: NO I've done a lot of looking around about using clamav with proxyfiltering. Dansxguardian (which does content filtering rather than ad filtering) has a add-on for scanning with clamav. HAVP will use clamav to scan with squid but does almost no proxy work really. IPCop has a module Copfilter which unites privoxy, clamav, HAVP, Squid and I don't know what all else to try to do this same kind of thing. I still cannot find any documentat about privoxy and clamav by themselves except this little note someone's got a patch and it should be in 3.0.0 somewhere and we're at 3.0.3 and I still can't find any mention of it. And this was all three years ago?! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-01-25 09:55 Message: Logged In: NO I cannot find evidence this has gone anywhere and marrying to to clamav seems like a good idea with the mime type addition as long as it includes javascripts and other obvious things.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andreas Oesterhelt (oes) Date: 2003-03-07 10:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=78811 Fritz, thank you very much for sharing your extenstion! I can see how it can be very useful in its present form. For inclusion in the Privoxy distribution I think that we need to turn it into an action and maybe also make it apply only selectively based on MIME type. IMHO this should already make one of the 3.0 series maintenance releases. --Andreas ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=311118&aid=687521&group_id=11118 |
