Bugs item #797792, was opened at 2003-08-30 11:02 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by david__schmidt You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=111118&aid=797792&group_id=11118 Category: other Group: version 3.0 >Status: Pending Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Matt Beard (matt-beard) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Privoxy can't cope with "real-world" web pages Initial Comment: Anything that approaches the complexity of a typical modern web page seems to be mangled to the point where it won't display at all correctly. As an example I have attached the normal (Privoxy disabled) and "mangled" (Privoxy enabled) versions of the project's own SourceForge summary page. You would think that a project that modifies HTML would at least have been tested with its own home page before being released as "stable" !!!! I am Running Privoxy 3.0.2 (downloaded yesterday) on Windows 2000 with IE version 5.00.292.0000 The only modification I have made to the Privoxy configuration is to set the "Listen" IP address to 192.168.0.1:8118 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: David Schmidt (david__schmidt) Date: 2003-08-30 12:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=249980 It's true, the more complex a web page is, the more likely it'll need some exceptions set up in Privoxy. It's pretty aggressive by default. That being said, the Privoxy site at SourceForge in fact works fine; I run with it all the time. Can you download the latest default.action file and try again? Be sure to clear your caches, too. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ijbswa/default.action?download ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=111118&aid=797792&group_id=11118 |
