Hello,

today I installed Suselinux 13.1 and Privoxy afterwards.

I use Firefox V27 with proxy 127.0.0.1 port 8118

There are some strange effects, i.e.

"www.privoxy.org" will be shown in the browser:

But these two an most others like "spiegel.de" and "welt.de" and others won't:

For more information status information in detail, there is a Suse forum link

I've tried it without --chroot but without success, process won't start.

The File "resolve.conf" has two entries:

    search site
    nameserver 192.168.178.1

    I changed privoxy.service to:

    ExecStart=/usr/sbin/privoxy --chroot --pre-chroot-nslookup 192.168.178.1 --pidfile /run/privoxy.pid --user privoxy /etc/config

But without success. Process startet but problems are the same.

Btw, when I use "http://config.privoxy.org/user-manual/startup.html#CMDOPTIONS" in the proxied browser "Error 404 - Privoxy Configuration page not found" appears.
Removing the proxy means "Privoxy is not being used".
So I used "http://www.privoxy.org/3.0.21/user-manual/" and searched in the source code for anker #CMDOPTIONS.

Trying to access "http://config.privoxy.org/user-manual/contact.html#SUFFCIENT-INFORMATION" with proxy results in "Error 404 - Privoxy Configuration page not found".

Without proxy in "Privoxy is not being used".

    Trying "http://www.privoxy.org/3.0.21/contact.html"

shows the following and anker "#SUFFCIENT-INFORMATION" does not exist:

An error has been encountered in accessing this page.

    1. Server: www.privoxy.org
    2. URL path: /3.0.21/contact.html
    3. Error notes: NONE

The link without Privoxy should be (note the "/user-manual"):
    http://www.privoxy.org/3.0.21/user-manual/contact.html#SUFFICIENT-INFORMATION

--pre-chroot-nslookup takes a DNS name as argument, for example www.privoxy.org. I'll clarify the documentation.

The fact that Privoxy can't find its templates is another indication that the chroot directory isn't setup properly.

Please be more specific about "I've tried it without --chroot but without success, process won't start.". If Privoxy fails to start it should produce an error message.

Despite some older messages there is one from this morning which could possibly give a hint:

    /var/log/NetworkManager-File:

    2014-02-14T09:08:43.082251+01:00 linux-cont nm-dispatcher.action[704]: /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/privoxyd: line 12: /etc/init.d/privoxyd: No such file or directory

The file installation list in YaST2 shows the following, I have added the code of three possible conflict files (code marked between FILE CONTENT BEGIN and FILE CONTENT END):

    /etc/NetworkManager
    /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d
    /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/privoxyd
    FILE CONTENT BEGIN

    ! /bin/sh

privoxy - rerun privoxy in response to interface change

    Ladislav Michnovic lmichnovic@suse.cz

This script should go into /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/ directory.
