    Hi all,

I use IIPImage for displaying newpapers page. I modify the viewer to display
some ALTO/METS structural data (like articles position) over the image. Its
works well. What i want to do know, is to react to users clicks on articles.
Instead of displaying the entire picture, i wish i can get only the part
related to the article by giving their coordinates. Is there a way to do this
with IIP or does i need to make a TIFF image for each article in my page ?

    Thanks for your help,

The RGN attribute makes me think about one thing.

One of the advantage of IIPImage is the fact that the user cannot get the
original image file. But a good request can retrieve a JPEG copy of this image
    like in this example :
    http://merovingio.c2rmf.cnrs.fr/fcgi-bin/iipsrv.fcgi?FIF=/home/eros/iipimage/
    F5961/HD5/HD5&WID=4000&RGN=0,0,1,1&CVT=JPEG

I'm using IIPImage for displaying image wich are around 6000*4000 pixels in
size. If i use the link above, i get a 4000 pixels width JPEG image, which is
the same as my original picture. Is there a way to disallow this feature for
some request type (like if the RGN coordinate is above 50% of image size ?)

hmm i'm answering myself, it's seems that the IIPServer return as maximum JPEG
size the TIFF n-1 level of the original picture. Is it correct ?

There is in fact a server side parameter MAX_CVT which will limit the size you
can export. This is, however, in pixels, not %. It will give you the highest
available resolution level below the max size you specify.

I don't exactly understand your question, but you must know there is a limit
on returned jpeg sizes, that you must set in the iipserver config lines
(inside apache configuration files, either httpd.conf or apache2.conf
depending on your apache version). I think it is set to 3000 by default

This is mentioned by Ruven somewhere in the posts I passed you ... or in some
    other posts

sorry, when I typed my answer had not seen your last message and Ruven's reply
    ;)

btw Ruven, you have posted iipzoom files today ... is there anything new
    there? Like source code ...

Being flex files I have not clear where should I look for sources (some times
there is a "view source" link, sometimes not)

I just moved the existing release package to sourceforge. I will be putting
    the source into svn today.
