The 2.0 has been in Beta for a while now (8+ months?). Was wondering if we
could get an update on where it stands for release?

Is there anything we (I) can do to assist with it?

Yes, that's far too long. But things are moving along nicely now and it's very
close to a 100% stable and full-featured release. I've made a lot of changes
since the beta and there are also some nice new features such as real
fullscreen support (on recent Firefox, Chrome, Safari), SVG scalable icons
etc. The only thing that needs a bit of extra work is the annotation stuff.

And there is now a Git repository for it:

Is there anything we (I) can do to assist with it?

Yes defintely! Please test it out on various browsers and platforms and report
    back any bugs!

The first thing I notice is that when I zoom in, then rotate the image, then
attempt to use the navigation window to move to a different area of the image
    it looses the rotation.

It seems to work ok on my iPhone, but the DroidX (using the Dolphin browser)
seem rather flaky. The other boys in the office were (running IceCream
Sandwich) tried with stock, dolphin, and Chrome but couldn't get the pinch to
    zoom to work.

Is there any mechanism other than the toolbar for rotating on the mobile
    devices?

Yes the rotation is explicitly reset when you move as I couldn't get it to
keep rotation across platforms. I'll take another look at this ...

Multi-touch javascript works fine on iOS, but unfortunately there is no
javascript multi-touch available on pre-ICS Android. Supposedly this is fixed
in Ice Cream Sandwich, but I've not had a chance to try it out. Maybe the
multi-touch event name on Android is different to iOS. I'll investigate ...

    Ruven,

I have the Nexus Galaxy with ICS. I can't get pinch-to-zoom to respond at all,
using stock browser, Dolphin, or Chrome Beta. Interestingly it doesn't zoom
the UI either like I expected, I get no response at all.

Conversely, my DroidX is running Gingerbread 2.3.4 and pinch to zoom out
appears to work fine (maybe it is just seeing that as a double tap though?)
but spread is not zooming in. The toolbar seems to work fine though.

I've got a HTC Sensation with Gingerbread and a Samsung Galaxy Tab with
Honeycomb and multi-touch detection is unfortunately not working on either of
    these for web apps.

Hi, I am developing a new website feature using iipmooviewer with
synchronization mode to sync 3 images. I have just trialled the latest viewer
from github and noticed that it is much worse at keeping the images in sync,
particularly if you pan quickly, than the previous version available here htt
    p://iipimage.sourceforge.net/2011/08/iipmooviewer-2-0-beta/.

Synchronization also does not work when panning or zooming using touch
    gestures (iPad at least).

One final minor feature request is that I see the button images are set to
fall back to png versions if the svg files are not found. Would it be possible
for this fallback to happen automatically for browsers (IE7 and below) that do
    not support svg?

    Thanks
    Steve

I've just updated the git repository with some fixes. I'll test the iPad issue
later, but synchronization is now as in the beta version and IE6-8 now
    directly request PNG.

Thanks very much, I have just dropped in the new version and those fixes have
    done the job.
