silly me.. i thought of one other thing to check after i posted the first message. seems i had two versions of libusb installed (0.1.5 and 0.1.7). got rid of the old version and recompiled. that has gotten rid of the 'no usb devices' error. unfortunately, i've got a new one (which isn't mentioned in the readme). now i get the message 'unable to connect to iFP'. i thought it might be a connection prob, but if the ifp isn't connected i get the appropriate 'no iRiver iFP found' message. looking at the code, it looks like it's checking the battery state when checking for a viable connection. (and yes, the ifp *is* turned on) -- trey |
