Guilty as charged.. I'm currently running 2.6.4.
It's odd, because immediately after I posted this, I got a couple of
replies from people who'd tried the older firmware and had this problem
go away. Perhaps this is simply a combination of issues.

If you had to guess, do you think this is a problem with the
USB-subsystem or a change in the raw-usb protocol.. or perhaps both?
Now that I think about it, I've also found my latest USB keychain to be
overly tempermental. Maybe I should experiment some more.
If I understand iRiver's website correctly, I can switch between
different 'manager' firmware versions without loosing my files, correct?
