#66 Effects seem to play, but no sound
Using 0.8.14. Everything works great, except for the past several versions (as in, a couple of years) the jingles no longer work.
If I go into the effects tab and configure an effect to play one of my short bumper sound effects, I can hit the play button and the green light comes on and the little vertical progress bar to the right of the effect creeps up indicating that the sound file is playing... but there is no audio. Completely silent from start to finish. Volume for that effect is cranked up to the max, and my crossfader is at the center position. Is there some other setting I need to configure?
I can work around it by putting the bumpers in the Background Tracks section; those seem to play just fine. But I feel like I'm missing something when half the effects page doesn't work for me.
Also, is there a hotkey I can use to quickly play the various effects? It used to be, I could keep the jingles window on the same screen as my playlists, and quickly slap a button on the jingles so they would play as a song was fading out. Now it's rather clumsy to have to switch from the playlist to the effects tab before I can locate and play the desired jingle.
idjc is still the best DJ software in the known universe, and I still recommend it to all my friends (even if they use Windows :-) )
In the JACK Ports menu hit reset.
Hotkeys are set in Prefs->Bindings where I suggest you bind keys F1 to F12 to start effects 1 to 12 and the ESC key to stop all playing effects.
You can mark this as CLOSED. The JACK reset was the answer. Thanks for the quick response!
