I'm maintaining IDJC for Fedora. In order to push the 0.8.8 version I need to package libshout-idjc as well.

Is this a fork that will continue as a separate project (and maybe divert even more in the future) or there is been a discussion with upstream to merge your changes in a future version?

I'm asking this because it's important for me to decide if it's more realistic to add these changes as a patch to the original libshout or just create a separate libshout-idjc package.

  • They have adopted some of the changes but they are absolutely not interested in my changes to support the non free AAC codec.
