Upon earlier suggestions, I added this to 'winoptions': aplaced.fResize: 1 aplaced.dResize: 1 aplaced.dBorder: 1 - it helps, but the problem is that certain dialog subwindows have names with spaces: WM_NAME(STRING) = "Component Editor" It doesn't seem like 'Component Editor.fResize: 1' is accepted, what do I do now? Running 1.0.9 works, but it is kind of outdated, of course. ========== XPROP follows: ~ xprop ... ... _ICEWM_TRAY(CARDINAL) = 0 _WIN_LAYER(CARDINAL) = 4 _NET_WM_DESKTOP(CARDINAL) = 5 _WIN_WORKSPACE(CARDINAL) = 5 WM_STATE(WM_STATE): window state: Normal icon window: 0x0 _NET_WM_STATE(ATOM) = _WIN_STATE(CARDINAL) = 0, 63 _OL_DECOR_DEL(ATOM) = PRIMARY, _OL_DECOR_CLOSE _MOTIF_WM_MESSAGES(ATOM) = _MOTIF_WM_OFFSET WM_PROTOCOLS(ATOM): protocols _MOTIF_WM_MESSAGES, WM_DELETE_WINDOW _MOTIF_WM_HINTS(_MOTIF_WM_HINTS) = 0x7, 0x6, 0xc, 0x3, 0x676e6561 WM_CLIENT_LEADER(WINDOW): window id # 0xe00055 WM_LOCALE_NAME(STRING) = "C" WM_CLASS(STRING) = "cvPopupWindow_popup", "CvbApp" WM_HINTS(WM_HINTS): Client accepts input or input focus: True Initial state is Normal State. window id # of group leader: 0xe00055 WM_NORMAL_HINTS(WM_SIZE_HINTS): program specified location: 50, 20 program specified size: 534 by 518 window gravity: NorthWest WM_CLIENT_MACHINE(STRING) = "balder" WM_NAME(STRING) = "Component Editor" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2005-10-31 16:56 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 escaping with \ in winoptions file works, but the WM_NAME property is not matched there. this will be fixed in the rewrite of winoptions handling ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Henning (castrol) Date: 2005-10-31 00:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=897704 Sorry for late response. As I recall I tried such things as ' ' " " or escaping with \ - none of this worked. In fact this is a bug I have filed already once, see https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100031&aid=964803&group_id=31 - it might not be a bug as such, to me, having close to no idea of X, the vendor does mess a lot around with X-properties of their program, and I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't conform to the usual guidelines of writing X-Window programs. Of course they support Fedora and KDE, which isn't exactly the choice at my workplace. However, they are always very helpful and eager, indeed, about fixing bugs and such, so how can I explain them what to fix, and how? Please see the bug linked to above, it gives more insigth in this problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Adam Pribyl (covexx) Date: 2005-10-07 09:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=607018 Did you try "Component\ Editor" or some other kind of workaround for spaces? I think there was a fixed bug about this problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100031&aid=1314771&group_id=31 |
