I have been looking recently at attempting to limit the maximized size of
applications to slightly less than the default X desktop. I run icewm in a
minimalist mode, with no taskbar or other items I view as desktop clutter,
but I am trying to restrict applications to say 1004x748 when my X
resolution is 1024x768 so that I might use the empty border to popup menus.
Now, before I get flamed, I have RTFM, as well as done serious
expirimentation with setting the X resources using xrdb, and xprop -root
-set. This has so far proven fruitless. Also, I rooted through the code
for a short amount of time, and noticed a MAYBE section in the CHANGES or
README about a config file option to limit the application Maximize size.
If this is implemented already, could someone point out how to use it, and
if it is not ready, could someone point me in the right direction to perhaps
attempt a patch? I have looked briefly at movesize.cc and did not find it
at first glance. Any help would be appreciated.
