I've been doing some hacks to be able to get the APM batery status to work
on my acpi laptop, this are just hacks, so the code may not look good at
all, but it seems not to break anything as it is working here on my APM and
my ACPI laptops.
As a result of this hacks, this patch adds support for ACPI systems (batery
remaining time is calculated with a linear rule). Also the size of the
APM box on the toolbar is changed dynamically (the code looks completely
awfull but the size looks perfectly calculated here) and the APM tooltip is
BTW: it would be great to have this optionally look as a battery that goes
empty like in the movile phones or something, and also a plug when it is
plugged or something.
One thing about the ACPI stuff, we can get much more info from ACPI, for
example temperatures. So I think this should have been done the other way
around, this is, map apm values into acpi and use acpi, but this meant
rewriting it all and I don't have the time, if anybody is willing to... go
One other thing, I have just tested this on one ACPI machine, mine, which of
course doesn't assure it will work on other machines, so testing is welcome.
Thanks for this great WM, I'm happy to provide something back to it.
