Arch = x86_64

faxlines = POTS (DAHDA)
I am dealing with an in-house provisioned Asterisk server using
FreePBX as the administrative front end. We built our own iaxmodem
rpm from the source provided. After the initial configuration
teething problems the system was allowed to run in test mode for
several weeks during which time minor issues were identified and
resolved. On Friday past (June 14) we switched over in the middle of
the day and everything seems to work fine. There were no problems
over the weekend either. faxes arrived as expected and were delivered
through our Hylafax+/Avantfax-3.3.3 combination.
At about 10:41 this morning (Monday June 17) something disturbed the
force and since that time our fax modems have not been picking up
reliably. The calls instead are routed through to the voice network
which is meant as a fall back in the event that a voice caller reaches
our fax line, which sometimes happens. When I call the fax lines from
our office fax machine I see this when the call is not picked up by
Unable to create channel of type 'IAX2' (cause 20 - Subscriber absent)
Can someone explain to me what causes this? Is it related to the
problem or simply a information message of no great importance?

I think it simply means the IAX peer is not registered. Is iaxmodem
still running? What is the result of "iax2 show peers"?
