<p>Image orientation with the longer side in horizontal direction
like usually used for landscape photography (hence the name).
</p><p>Most image sensors and many film types have a longer and a shorter side. Shooting landscape gives a wider horizontal and a narrower vertical <a href="Field_of_View.html" title="Field of View">Field of View</a> in each single shot. For a cylindrical panorama you need less shots for a given field of view if you shoot landscape but you get a lower resolution.
