The locale attribute is likely the one where someone would expect the enviroment variable to set the default, if not override the config. Maybe whoever added this sentence meant for it to go in the description for locale, but aimed poorly? ;-) It does come up from time to time on the mailing list that some users expect htdig to observe the LOCALE env variable, which it doesn't. So, we may want to consider changing the code so it does use this variable, or adding a note in the docs saying it doesn't. -- Gilles R.
