I've installed htdig 3.1.6 on my SGI running IRIX6.5.22m. Whenever I run the rundig script provided (with appropriate machine specific names) it always crashes with the following error: 104/http://chemweb/sigproc/HarmonicAnalysis.html 105/http://chemweb/sigproc/Integration.html 106/http://chemweb/sigproc/Introduction.html 107/http://chemweb/sigproc/ResolutionEnhancement.html Deleted, no excerpt: 2029/http://chemweb/sigproc/SPECTRUM.html 108/http://chemweb/sigproc/SignalArithmetic.html 109/http://chemweb/sigproc/SignalsAndNoise.html 110/http://chemweb/sigproc/Smoothing.html ./rundig[53]: 1628302 Abort(coredump) It does this on a new database, as well as on rerun on an existing database. I've tried cutting out the synonyms, and it still crashes. I've modified the max_doc_size in htdig.conf, and it still crashes. However, it creates a database that can be used by htsearch since I can actually execute queries and obtain reasonable results. The process actually seems to go through all documents on the server, then enters a state of apparent hibernation, i.e. no output is being generated, before it exits with a core dump. I can't find any documentation in the bugs/faqs/archives on this, but I'm guessing it's related to htfuzzy.... Besides being a nuisance the core file is very large, and rather disconcerting, so I can't run a cron to automate the process. Has anyone seen this before? Is there a known work-around? I'd be happy to share the coredump or other information if anyone's volunteering time to address this issue. Thanks, Michiel. This e-mail is intended for the addressee shown above. Try commenting out the htnotify line in the rundig script and see if that makes any difference. There are some known issues with htnotify that only affect certain platforms. If removing htnotify solves the problem but you have a need for htnotify then you might want to try this patch. ftp://ftp.ccsf.org/htdig-patches/3.1.6/htnotifyNull.0 Jim |
