as you probably noticed, I changed the CONFIG.in and the configure.in
files for the with-'____' series of parameters regarding the some directory
and file customisation.
I hope you don't mind if I did it without 'warning' you. I have to get
back on track!!! :-)

The nice thing about Windows is - It does not just crash,
it displays a dialog box and lets you press 'OK' first.

Yes, I noticed the CVS update log messages. I'll consider your e-mail
as the warning, even though it was too late to say anything about it.
I think your changes are good ones, which should resolve a few complaints
about 3.1.x's lack of configurability. Unfortunately, they also mean I
need to fix the RPM .spec file in contrib accordingly, before 3.1.6 can
be released. (I had been thinking of other changes to it anyway.)
