Tried to "rundig" it takes ram all the way to 892Mb (of
2gig) then dumps.
I call the support team at gcc and they say the problem lies
within HTDIG.... I disagree and then did some searching
that stated gcc is basically disagreeing with the actual
ram count ...anyhoo can someone (ANYONE PLEASE) help
with this hideous error.

See, this is why the FAQ harps on the need to include
version numbers in bug reports. If you're running version
3.1.6, then I suspect your problem is the bug that is fixed
    by this patch:
    ftp://ftp.ccsf.org/htdig-patches/3.1.6/htnotifyNull.0

If you're not running 3.1.6, then would you kindly mention
    which version you're running? See
    http://www.htdig.org/FAQ.html#q1.8 and
    http://www.htdig.org/FAQ.html#q5.33 for more info. If
    you're running a 3.2 beta release that's older than 3.2.0b6,
then I suggest you upgrade to the latest beta.

By the way, you say to see the attachment, but there is
none. It's best to include relevant details right in the
    summary.
