If any of Yahoo's pages have broken links, htcheck reports on that > in the summary. This results in an excessively large report. Do you mean: a) a yahoo page has a link which is broken? or b) a yahoo page that's broken? Case a is incorrect, case b is what the standard user of htcheck needs. As far as I know, unless your limits include yahoo, it is not possible for htcheck to GET (I use this term because it is the HTTP method used to fetch documents' content) external links. If they are *external*, they can't be retrieved; depending on the 'check_external' attribute, if set to 'true' htcheck performs HTTP HEAD calls, which prevent it from downloading external resources contents; therefore, it can't follow links in external URLs. The only case of link follow, is when an external resource is redirected, so htcheck goes and fetches another document. I am pretty sure about this, as I have been running (and programming) htcheck for almost 4 years. >check_external: true This is the option that tells htcheck to retrieve external documents. If you don't want external links to be reported, you can turn this option off. Hope this helps and please let me know; maybe you can come up with some feature request (it's always interesting to hear to people's comments).
