Hi Fred I tried it also with my real application to put the DB directly into the root of the JAR. Same error message. I think it is the same error as = when the database is not found at all. However, I verified that the classpath = is ok. My -classpath contains ch.ethz.ups.studenttool-0.1.jar and the JAR = contains the DB: > jar tf ch.ethz.ups.studenttool-0.1.jar ... hcdsqlsc.data hcdsqlsc.script hcdsqlsc.properties ... And the sql error shows that exactly this DB is searched for: java.sql.SQLException: File input/output error: = res:/hcdsqlsc.properties java.io.FileNotFoundException: res:\hcdsqlsc.properties (Die Syntax = f=FCr den Dateinamen, Verzeichnisnamen oder die Datentr=E4gerbezeichnung ist = falsch) I think at this point it should work, shouldn't it? BTW, I use RC5. Thanks Daniel ----------------------------- Von: hsq...@li... [mailto:hsq...@li...] Im Auftrag von fredt Gesendet: Donnerstag, 22. April 2004 00:54 An: hsq...@li...
