Problem in the reported usbclass of a HP3400C

  • I have a HP 3400C and I the scanner is reported as a class 10 device. Is this correct?
    I use Ubuntu Breezy (kernel 2.6.12-9-k7, libusb-0.1.10a-17ubuntu1, hotplug 0.0.20040329-22ubuntu13, libsane 1.0.15-9ubuntu6)

      I think the class reported by the scanner does not really matter. As far as I know, there is no such thing as an USB "scanner" class or something.

    • There is a usb class for scanners and ptp devices, the number is 0x06.
      But this does not affect the functioning of the scanner, therefore I use it normally. I was only curious.
