turn any WLAN router where openwrt runs on into a hotspot with this release. While previous releases where based on ewrt, the new ones will be based on the flexible modular openwrt, but still provide a web gui. This is the first release candidate.

With this firmware you can turn your wrt54g in a free or pay hotspot to share your network access

Hotspot-zone 0.4a is the first release of some extensions to ewrt-0.3 beta, a firmware for the linksys wrt54g.

The extensions so far include:
- an improved captive portal splashd
---radius auth and acct support,
---login, confirm, and logout page from external server,
---automatic logout,
---traffic reporting,
---improved handling of firewall rules in case firewall rules are reinitialized,
---automatic self test of splashd functionality with timeout,
---support of syslogd
---httpd request read loop improved, ignoring wrong requests,
- automatic reboot
- syslogd changes to include a defined prefix
- simple 2. step hotspot configuration on setup page
- sip proxy siproxd (not yet fully functional)
- smtp with tcp proxy for smtp redirection (not yet fully functional)
- dyndns with own server
