Hello,
I am using Cinelerra 1.1.7 (precompiled) on a redhat 9
with kernel 2.4.22.
(any further information needed?)

When I try to render the video as an mpeg video,
cinelerra often gets stuck when rendering.
I have not figured out yet, if it is because of
constant bitrate, constant quantization or using
progressive frames.
Down there is an example of CBR and no progressive...

    I realized one more thing:

When I render 720x576 frame size, cinelerra crashes.
    Rendreing 720x480 interlaced works fine!

    Yes,

the same thing happens to me, after I upgraded from 1.1.6
to 1.1.8, I got this problem.

After trying a couple of times, I did a rpm listing of the
package (I used the cinelerra-1.1.8-1.ath.rpm from
heroinewarrior.com) I did a rpm -ql of the package, and
noticed that the mpeg2enc.plugin was not included in the
rpm. I then tried to copy out this file from the working
1.1.6 rpm, and put it into /usr/lib/cinelerra. Amazingly
    enough it worked now.

So I rendered away happily for a couple of movies, and
suddenly it stopped working again. Just like that.

I removed the /usr/lib/cinelerra , but it is still the same.

I have now downgraded to 1.1.6 again, and it seems to be
    working.

Here is the output in the terminal where I started cinelerra.

    Hi again,
    I am using 1.1.9 now.
again i crashes most often when trying to render with no
    progressive.

I read on a cinelerra wiki, that you have to add
    -b /usr/bin/cinelerra

to the file /etc/prelink.conf (i think on rh)

But id did not help either. (I also reinstalled cinelerra).
I then started cinelerra with strace. Well, and the it
worked. For 60% of themovie. Then strace always gives the
    message:

    Resource temporarily unavailable)
    select(20, [19], NULL, NULL, NULL) = 1 (in [19])
    read(19, "\241
    \217\374\350\371\32H\267\1\0\0\350\3\0\0x1\355\n\210"...,
    32) = 32
    ioctl(19, FIONREAD, [0]) = 0
    ioctl(19, FIONREAD, [0]) = 0
    read(19, 0xbfef06d0, 32) = -1 EAGAIN
    (Resource temporarily unavailable)

    I can't figure it out.
