Just built hvirtual-1.0.0 on Mandrake 9.0.
Had to change the following to get off the ground:

cinelerra/vdevice1394.C:
606c606
< output_fd = open("/dev/video1394", O_RDWR);
---
> output_fd = open("/dev/video1394/0", O_RDWR);

Now cinelerra starts and I'm able to load sound and
video tracks.
Sound (alone) plays fine, but when I try to playback a
video track,
I get the following error:

VDevice1394::open_output avc_handle == 0

which comes from the next operation in vdevice1394.C.

    I just discovered that my primary problem was an old .bcast
    directory being read and the output being interpretted as
    Firewire (instead of X11). Sorry about that. My bad.

    But I think the DEVFS issue (/dev/video1394 vs.
    /dev/video1394/0) still needs to be resolved. Then again, I
    could be wrong. It's been known to happen. :)

    Thanks for a great product. I plan to become fairly well
    acquainted with it in the coming months.
