Xmovie-1.6 crashes right after hitting the play button
every time on my dual PPRO-200. Here's the output I get:

bash$ xmovie
XMovie (c) 2001 Adam Williams
Deleted semaphore 2424840
Deleted semaphore 2457609
Deleted semaphore 2490378
Deleted semaphore 2523147
Crash
bash$ rpm -qa | grep xmovie
xmovie-1.6-1
bash$

This is running RH-6.2 with kernel-2.4.1 (ane the
correct modutils, not that it matters) as well as the
provided xmovie binary rpm. I thought the new xmovie
was supposed to auto-detect mmx, however I still have
the option to select mmx support in options->settings.
It doesn't matter because I've selected mmx to be off,
and a crash from attempting to use mmx on a non-mmx
system just results in an "illegal instruction" error.

I note that xmovie-1.5.4 continues to work, so I've
downgraded back to the previous version.

Cheers,

The kernel and C library versioning is not optional. On the web
pages there is usually a kernel point release and C library point
release which you need to run the software. Since it is not
optional you'll have to update your libraries. Since 1999 point
releases have been the most critical, with major version numbers
virtually irrelevant in library versioning. Major version
numbers are usually reserved for press releases.
