I recently upgraded my Mac Pro to Lion, and then updated to 10.7.2. Meteorologist 1.5.6 quits before completely starting and does not generate a crash notification window. I LOVE the app and have used it since its beginnings. I have no idea what may be going on to cause this, as it appears others are not having issue after Lion upgrade. There is no file I know of to attach. I hope someone can assist. I feel lost without my old friend, Meteorologist.

I have deleted all files found that are part of the application, reinstalled and still the problem exists.

Thank you!

console log on last attempted start of Meteo app

  • Hello Steve,

I had the same problem. You will need to delete com.heat.meteo.plist and possibly the associated com.heat.meteo.plist.lockfile with it. It works after you do that, but you will need to re-enter your cities, preferences, etc. You can open the existing com.heat.meteo.plist file that you removed from your preferences folder and it should show you all of the previous settings. Re-enter those manually into the now working Meteorologist.

  • I just noted that the plist file shows the cities as numbers. So, you'll have to enter a fresh batch of cities. Sorry that is isn't easier. The best part is that Meteorologist still work is Lion 10.7.2 (and hopefully the soon to be released 10.7.3).
