#5 I/O Error on Secure Erase Commands

I am getting an I/O error whenever I try to erase a drive or set a password. It is not frozen. I am currently using an LSI 9200-8e HBA card to communicate with the storage arrays. Linux sees all the drives, can read/write to them and perform self-tests so I am kind of at a loss...help please!
