    I just upgraded hdparm from version 5.5 and 6.1 (two boxes) to the current 7.3.

    Before the upgrade, hdparm 5.5 and 6.1 properly displayed the AAM setting of my drives as zero which is their setting:

    ~# hdparm -M /dev/hdb

    /dev/hdb:
    acoustic      = 0 (128=quiet ... 254=fast)

    hdparm 7.3 displays that attribute as being set to 254 while I know that it's at zero:

    ~# hdparm -M /dev/hdb

    /dev/hdb:
    acoustic      = 254 (128=quiet ... 254=fast)

    Is this a slight bug or is this a change of design?

    My desktop runs Slackware 10.0, stock kernel 2.4.26 and my laptop Slackware 10.2, stock kernel 2.4.31.

    Thanks and best regards.
