In such case where first directory list item is directory which contains readme.txt file the
readme.txt file from main directory will be omitted.

here is example:

dir1
foo1.py
index.txt <- this will appear twice to documentation
foo2.py
foo3.py
index.txt <- this will not appear at all to documentation

but if I add 'afile.py' which comes to main directory before (in alphabethical order) dir1, then
correct index.txt will appear to mainpage of the documentation.

This happens when I'm using cygwin in windows. When running happydoc from DOS promt
above described problem does not occur.

It would be also nice if HappyDoc could generate documentation from such directories where is
no .py files, but there is readme.txt.

HappyDoc seems to ingnore uppercase files (ending with .PY ) at least when using NT and
cygwin.

This seems to be 3 separate issues. The first with picking up the
readme.txt file from the wrong place I'll track with this bug id. I don't
have access to cygwin, so I'll need to see if I can reproduce the problem
elsewhere. If not, I may need help with debugging/testing
    patches.

The second is a feature request. Do you just want a STNG->HTML
converter, or would the documentation be structured in directories
somehow? I'd appreciate it if you would submit this separately with a
bit more description. It sounds like an interesting idea.

    As far as
files ending with .PY, it isn't clear that these are even valid. Does
    Python support them?

The changes related to bug #513850 will affect this bug,
either fixing it or making it otherwise obsolete.
