I'm sorry to anounce, that the development of Hamsam due to lack of active developers - any help are welcome.
Hamsam is therefore no longer maintained, and due to the frequently updates of the MSN-protocol, it is a known bug, that Hamsam is no longer able to connect with MSN; Hamsam is using MSNP8.
Some time ago the founder of the project left and all remaining members but me turned inactive. Because of this Hamsam lacks resources, especially developers having the necessary time to maintain Hamsam. At that time, the code was undergoing a great structure upgrade and was therefore left in an unfinished state.
Due to the circumstances, as I am the only active developer (I have trouble finding the necessary time too), I am forced to take some steps in the upcoming future to ensure the survival of Hamsam, which are:
- All files will be removed from the CVS, due to the incomplete state of the files.
- The release of version 0.2.3 will be left as the newest version available.
- The GUI and test-client will be not supported anymore and dropped in future releases; only the core lib will remain.
- A new version will soon be released with some errors corrected.... read more
Here is a wonderful version of Hamsam!!! Packed with three protocols - AIM, MSN, and Yahoo!. Lots of changes were made after the previous release. Download it from http://hamsam.sourceforge.net
This version contains exactly the same code as in 0.1 alpha release. However, we have changed the license to LGPL in this release.
Today, I added bare bones of MSN protocol implementation to CVS. As of now, it just logs in and receives messages. Watch out for more action in the coming days.
The first version of Hamsam instant messaging API is released. The alpha release is more or less complete with all features, although there may be some bugs left behind. Visit http://hamsam.sourceforge.net for details.
