I don't really like the fact that gxmame wants to
completely controll all options settings. This seems a
little over the top; it also causes problems like the
current brokenness with the -*hotrod stuff. Too many
version sync problems.

I think it would be useful to have an option which
allowed you to not bother setting global xmame options
at all, just use the system default instead.

I have a script which *effectively* does this by
pretending to be xmame and stripping out all the
arguments except those needed to fool gxmame (-version,
-help) and verify ROMs and such.

Even so, I think it would be a plus to keep the ability
to set per-game options.

    I didn't see this, but this feature is exactly what i just
    implemented. I'll submit a patch against 0.34b to sourceforge

    The CVS version of gxmame has an option to avoid passing any
    options to xmame, so the script is no longer needed.
