I am new to Linux and Gumstix and I am having trouble getting the Wifi to work on my setup. Here is what I've tried so far. I have Verdex XM4 and NetWifiMicroSD-FCC. I edited /etc/network/interfaces to look like the following auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.1.99 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1 auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp pre-up /sbin/iwconfig $IFACE key XXXXX key restricted essid "BOTUSA" txpower 100mW When I have the ethernet cable plugged in I can log in using Putty over SSH to 192.168.1.99. I type ifconfig and see that WLAN has grabbed an IP of 192.168.1.20 and while the ethernet cable is plugged in I can SSH using either the static IP I assigned for eth0 or the IP above that was assigned to the WLAN. When I unplug the ethernet cable I cannot SSH or even ping 192.168.1.20. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Verdex-NetWifiMicroSD-can%27t-get-wifi-tp18778077p18778077.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
