Hi, I am working on a project involving Gumstix and was wondering if you could help me out. I currently have 5 sets of the following: 1 connex 400xm-bt, 1 wifistix fcc, and 1 robostix. My goal for now is just to talk to the gumstix via serial from either my linux- or windows-based laptops. I set it up as follows: The three boards are connected, with the motherboard in the middle. I then use the series of connections shown here<http://roboticsprimer.sourceforge.net/workbook/Image:UART_Brain_Null.jpg>(the first piece can be found here <http://www.acroname.com/robotics/parts/S13-SERIAL-INT-CONN.html>) and a standard serial cable which connects the null modem and the laptop. I follow the minicom instructions found here<http://www.gumstix.net/Software/view/Getting-started/Setting-up-a-serial-connection/111.html> and power the robot with a 4 AA battery pack converter, but nothing comes up on the screen. A red and yellow light each appear on the serial interface and one green light appears on both the wifistix and robostix. I feel like I should at least see the gumstix booting up on minicom, but I see nothing. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, David Freifeld |
