I also do the following to dramatically reduce the number of files from the internet. I create a directory called dl-cache in my gumstix directory (which contains all of my gumstix-buildroot directories. Then after fetching from svn and before doing the initial make, I do: ln -s ../dl-cache dl Often I forget and see that it's starting to download the linux kernel, so I hit Control-C and remove the dl directory and setup the link.
