Thanks Tim! I am not discouraged... stubborn, but not discouraged. I do think it necessary , for future newbies, that we do figure out how to build just gdb and gcc under windows. I am more than willing to build the kernel and all of the tools under Linux. However I want to build my application using my familiar windows tools. Right now, for me, moving completely to Linux will be a 12 step process. ;-) So let me rephrase my question. How do I get the build root script to just build GCC and GDB? That is how do I get it not to compile the Kernel and well the root file system? For this discussion lets drop the whole cygwin step and assume that this is being done on Ubuntu. Then later we can move to cygwin/colinux. Chuck -----Original Message----- tim...@co... Sent: Thursday, January 04, 2007 5:57 PM To: General mailing list for gumstix users. Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] Toolchain under windows Hi Chuck, Alls I was saying was I could not get linux to build under windows using the GNU toolchain. Apparently Intel/Marvell has a windows based IDE for building kernels on a windows machine, but you will need a contract with them to get it. I do not want to discourage you. Please let us know your success.
