Yes, it's what I suspected but in order to do it I guess (I'm not a DNS expert..) the server can not be a regular host service You buy in order to have Your site published in the internet, but shoul be a machine where You are the administrator and have all the right over it in order to install DNS server, etc. . Am I assuming right? Thanks for Your interest. Some are simple, they use a database as a backend, and you store your name/ip pairs on it (well, so I heard, it has been a few years since I last tried something like that, and by then it was a little more complicated). Then you assign a name for each site/camera, i.e. "camera-xxx.subdomain.example.com" and the commercial client only has to lookup the name by tradditional methods. If this client software is so dumb that it doesn't accept names but only IP addresses, then you're in trouble :-) As for the tunneling, yes, if you can connect from the outside world to the gprs device, that's your best option, otherwise tunneling or gprs-initiated connections are probably the remaining choices, and it might be very expensive if you have to pay for the extra bandwidth. - Alexandre ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
