If you only have an etherstix (i.e. no MMC), then you can use TFTP with u-boot to transfer a flash image. http://docwiki.gumstix.org/U-Boot#Loading_via_TFTP With the gumstix running, the ifconfig command will show you your MAC address and IP address. On some versions of buildroot dhcp will only work properly if the ethernet cable is plugged in when the gumstix is booting. I use the wget command and run an FTP server on my Windows XP machine. Some versions of buildroot don't run bonjour, so you may need to configure it in. > is there a way of loading the programs to a folder in the gumstix using the > tweener? You can use sz/rz and a zmodem capable terminal program. > what about the GPSstix? You can use serial, but it's essentially the same process as using sz/rz on the console. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |
