I've just subscribed to his ml a few hours ago. I'm looking for some ideas
for this very nice SBC device I'm thinking about buying. I want to wait
for the wireless version, but I either way I don't have any ideas of what
to do with it yet.
If people can just throw some ideas at me, that'd be great, others may
also find this thread interesting.

That's the first thing I asked when I got on this mailing list. There
are some archived messages about this subject already. But some of us
have been thinking that a site full of ideas of uses for your gumstix
would be a great idea.
I set up a webring for gumstix stuff. And ask that anyone who wants to
join it or contribute to the site email me and I'll add them in. But
nobody has responded yet (*hint,hint*).
We need lists of ideas and lists of projects that people have completed
or are fairly into already. Gumstix doesn't have very many I/Os but the
price is right!
Also. slightly off-topic but if you want a microcontroller that is
cheap, low powered and you can connect to a gumstix for some enhanced
I/O check out the TI MSP430. Right now TI has an offer of free 2 hour
lunch and seminar and you get a free wrist watch with the MSP430
built-in. There are like 100 locations for the seminars so it's likely
there is one nearby. Check out
http://www.ti.com/corp/docs/landing/msp430day/index.htm .. I am looking
into getting one as a companion for the gumstix.
