Ok so I haven't used my Robostix in a while, I brought it out and hooked every thing up (jumper'd ttyS2 to atmel0 like a null modem) And it appears to down load code but after every thing is downloaded it doesn't run. I've tried all of my code and Simple-Flasher but it is a no go. I get nothing on the leds or the serial line (it should spit out a continuous stream of stuff). I've tried resetting the fuses (pgm-fuse-standalone) but that didn't work. I also tried resetting it with "S10robostix restart" but that didn't work either. I don't have any o-scopes or multi-meters at my house so I don't have any kind of info on that. It seems half bricked and besides taking an o-scope to it on Monday is there any thing else I should try this weekend? I hope every one had a more fun on their friday night then I did =( -Jesse W. |

Unplug the gumstix and just plugin power to the robostix, and redo the fuses just to be sure. The power LED should go on and the LEDs start blinking. One of mine went spastic, seems to be something to do with the external crystal. If the above doesn't produce any results, we can try changing the fuses to have it run off the internal 8MHz clock source. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |

Dave, Power led goes on but no blinking. Jesse was a sad Panda. So to try the 8MHz clock we want to select the 'Calibrated Internal RC Oscillator' So we want cksel 3-0 to be 0100. Do I have to change any thing else on the fuses or can I just modify pgm-fuse-standalone? Do I need to do any thing with sut 1-0? Thanks for the help, like always your bailing me out. I tested with fuses of Extended: 0xFF, High: 0xC9, Low: 0xA4 which CKSEL = 0100 and SUT = 10 and of course, the LEDs flash once every 2 seconds since it's running at half the clock rate it thinks its supposed to be at. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |

looks like I have a dead robostix.
