Does anyone have the problem of the gumstix rebooting?
My config is robostix, tweener, gumstix, cfs(netgear
Everytime I turn the wifi card on(with its light
flashing), then sometime it reboot right away, or
within 5 to 7 minutes. The point is it is always
We think that the problem is there might not be enough
power for every card on there.
Anyone with a way to solve this, please help us.

I've heard reports of this happening with others. It seems to stem fro
mthe fact that some WiFi cards can draw close to 500mA. The voltage
regulator on the robostix only delivers 500mA for the gumstix and
stuff connected thru the 92 ping connector. The voltage regulator goes
into thermal shutdown, which causes the power to the gumstix to be
interrupted which shuts of the WiFi card and then the voltage
The way that I've seen others get around this is to power the cfstix
with 5v in addition to providing around 6v-9v to the robostix. Then
you'll get 500 mA from the robostix voltage regulator in addition to
whatever you can provide through the cfstix power connector. It's
important for the power on the cfstix to be at 5v (so it matches the
5v from the robostix).
