Hi guys. What do I need to enable in order to be able to communicate through Ethernet (Netstix)? I have a Network camera. If I go with a Web browser to (for example) http://192.168.0.12/image.jpg then i can see the image. So what do I need to do in order to read the same way the image on gumstix ? |

I don't have a Hub or a router. I have a network camera connected directly to gumstix. Shouldn't this work ? Or I still have to use a hub between them ? |

I'm assuming that you're using the http protocol in which case it's just a standard http request. You could also use the "system" call from within C and actually call wget. If you really want it in C, then the simplest approach would be to look at the source code for wget. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |

HI Demetris, > So I do like this : > > System("wget http://192.168.0.9/image.jpg"); > > But I don't see the image anywhere when I run the program. A few things to check: 1 - what was the return code from the system call? 2 - If the return code was non-zero, what was errno? 3 - What was the current directory of the program that issued the system call? 4 - I assume that if you issue the command manually that it works fine? -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |

I finally got it to work. It was the fact that I didn't specify the full path of "wget" in the code. Anyways. It works fine now. Once again I appreciate that you took the time to help Dave. You could also try scripting socat, timing your HTTP GET commands, and handling the output. 2007/7/11, Craig Hughes <cr...@gu...>: > > On Jul 11, 2007, at 5:38 AM, Demetris Zavorotnichenko wrote: > > > Hi. See what Ray was saying above. Using sockets and the GET command you can stay connected and GET the image everytime you need to. On 7/11/07, Demetris Zavorotnichenko <fgc...@cy...> wrote: > > Hi.
