So, I'm a little lost here. As you know, I'm having problems with Gumstix on Ubuntu 8.04 32 bits, so I wanted to know: What's the difference between using OpenEmbedded and Buildroot? Can any Gumstix use OpenEmbedded? Is ther any advantage/disadvantage in doing so? Im new at this, and Id really like to know my options before installing another OS in order to use with gumstix. Thanks again for your help, and sorry if any of this questions sound really dumb. Pablo. |

Hey Pablo,I am using openembedded on ubuntu and I think it is great.I have a verdex and a basix that I am experimenting with and they work so much better after installing their respective gumstix-basic-images. Programation-wise, is there any difference? Is it easier? 2008/9/15 Peter Vandrish <pet...@gm...> > Hey Pablo,I am using openembedded on ubuntu and I think it is great.I have > a verdex and a basix that I am experimenting with and they work so much > better after installing their respective gumstix-basic-images. > Pete > > On Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 5:14 PM, Pablo Iturralde <itu...@gm...>wrote: > >> So, I'm a little lost here. It's the exact same if you bypass all that bitbake stuff, which I do, but bitbake recipes are probably pretty useful if you take the time to learn it all. I think it is easier to add libraries in OE as well. On Mon, Sep 15, 2008 at 6:18 PM, Pablo Iturralde <itu...@gm...>wrote: > Programation-wise, is there any difference?
