Hi everyone, I have a problem about the wifi card and some of the file require to turn it on is just not there. I have kernel 2.6.15 and the netgear card. I know you have to rename the s30pcmcia to S30pcmcia from /etc/init.d. But it is not there. How could I get that file again? should I recompile the kernel and reflash the gumstix. Thanks. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com |

2.6.15 no longer uses /etc/init.d/s30pcmcia, nor does it use the deprecated pcmcia package. Instead, it now uses udev+hotplug+pcmcia- utils The motd file has been updated to reflect what you need to do in order to enable CF, viz. disable MMC and enable compact flash support in /etc/modules With the pxa2xx-cs module loaded, CF cards should be detected by the kernel when they are inserted, and udev events will be fired to userspace, where udevd will attempt to process the events according to the rules in /etc/udev/ If you have a CF card which is for some reason apparently not doing the right thing, you can see what udev events are firing by using the "udevmonitor" program. Run udevmonitor on a console, then insert your card and watch what udevmonitor sees happening. Then build a udev rule to do the right thing based on the events udevmonitor sees and add it under /etc/udev -- I believe you need to restart udevd to have it notice new rules, though "udevcontrol" might work too.
