Hi, I'm trying to add drivers for a USB Labjack to my kernel build for a Verdex XM4. I'm using OpenEmbedded. I see how to enable/disable build for existing misc USB drivers (e.g. Apple cinema display, Lego tower, etc.) but not sure how to add a new driver? Is this somehow mnaged through the defconfig file? Thanks, Jeff |

Probably not what you are looking for, but I ran into the same issue. I resolved the dilemma by using a Garmin GPS-18 USB GPS receiver. I use gpsbabel to pull in the coordinates in a nice clean (non-NMEA) format. Thank you Kit Plummer! -Another Question- Did you make a GPS USB driver? Or Did you use the driver that manufacturer are providing? Thank you very much again! -----Original Message----- From: Kit Plummer [mailto:kit...@gm...] Sent: Thursday, March 05, 2009 1:30 PM To: General mailing list for gumstix users. No problem. I used GPSBabel (http://www.gpsbabel.org/), available as an IPKG file. Depending on what data/format you require there's a ton of commands possible. GPSBabel provides the USB driver. For example I use the following to generate a simple KML file with the unit's position embedded. gpsbabel -i garmin,get_posn -f usb: -o kml -F - BTW, I believe the GPS-18 unit is EOL'ed. I was able to find a few on eBay recently however. If the USB route works for you check out the GPSBabel site for other options too.
