Partial answer to Bluetooth on Buildroot: it looks like the Bluetooth
modules in late 2008 are shipping with their baudrate set to 921600.
That is the default start speed for OE, but not for Buildroot.
"All I had to do" on a fresh 1637 buildroot (with bluez, hostap and
netkit-telnet) was to make this setting in /etc/init.d/S30bluetooth:
The clue was the Open Embedded boot message, that says it is trying the
higher baudrate first. With that change, buildroot 1637 boots Bluetooth
just like OE:
Starting 32kHz clock...Settled
Starting Bluetooth subsystem:Trying baud rate 921600...
No response after reset
Got Startup Event -- retrying once
Detected bluetooth module at 921600 baud
Got: status=0x00, hci_ver=0x03, hci_rev=0x62b9, lmp_ver=0x03,
Bluetooth: Core ver 2.11
I am still curious about my original question, but now that the thing is
running, I'm probably done. Thanks to Tomas and Gordon. I looked on
the FAQ page, but it doesn't look like there is a good place to add this
