That is definitely good news. I can stop trying to design my own 60pin expansion board with 16bit lcd signals now. Does this board fix a lot of the problems that people were having with the 18 bit version? I have a brand new ConsoleLCD16 board that will not commuicate with the touch controller chip. (even tho it has a QA stamp on it) There are no pullups on the I2C SDA and SCL lines. I added 20k pullups to these two lines and it started working. The PXA270 has very weak pullups when GPIO configured as input. This seems to be marginal at best. Definitely not ideal. |

What are the symptoms ? I have some issue that it just freeze when I try to use it ... I have to unload the module ... Do you have a rootfs I could try ? The module fails to load because it doesn't get a response over the SPI bus, and consequently everything touchscreen related doesn't work. If I swap out the consoleLCD16 for the 18bit one without reflashing, the graphics are a mess, of course, but the touchscreen works just fine. I built the x11-32mb package, which doesn't include the directfb stuff, but X works fine. Feel free to give it a try. The first time I powered mine up it was not responding. I then logged in on the regular console port and reran the ts_calibrate utility. After that touch screen worked like a charm. I too have a consoleLCD16-vx and have it working with no hardware mods whatsoever. The board does not work well with 'older' versions of the tsc2003 driver. A change was committed for the driver to the gumstix OE subversion branch in r255 based off of some experimenting I was doing with Steve Sakoman. Basically we came to the conclusion that the way the tsc2003 generated PENIRQ interrupts was a bad design, and as a result the chip produced interrupts even though it was reporting no pressure on the touchscreen. Our solution was to not use interrupts from the tsc2003 at all, and instead poll the driver to get its info, and then relay that to the input layer if position/pressure had changed. So if you are running an OE image older than r255 you will most likely need to update to a later version. I've now updated to the latest OE with no change to the touchscreen operation. I have a consoleLCD16-vx and it works fine with both the pre-built X11 images from the gumstix.com and images I have built from the latest OE source tree from subversion.
