I am trying to get Jamvm to use a TCP/IP socket but everytime I run my
program it says "Illegal Instruction". I've tried using some really basic
socket examples from Sun's website and they do it too. This is on a Verdex
XM4 with buildroot version 1533.
My first thought was it was a bug in classpath or jamvm and have tried to
compile several other versions of classpath but they all fail to compile
(./configure works, make fails with a different error in every version).
I then tried building jamvm 1.4.2 and classpath 0.90 (the versions which
the buildroot supplies) on my desktop and the program works fine. I can
also run other programs (well at least a hello world) on the gumstix
without any problems.
Finally I tried jamvm and classpath on a connex 400-xm with buildroot 1161
and it all works fine. The only difference I can see is that buildroot
1161 uses uclibc 0.9.28 and 1533 uses 0.9.29 and that one is on a connex
and the other a verdex. Has anyone else seen this problem? How did you
