the on cores I have seen will do both position and time. They just have some which are optimized for one or the other.

Subject: [Gumstix-users] Radio daughterboard and touchscreen combo
I have a Morotola OnCore GPS around, but I'm not sure if it's
timing-only (and not positioning capable). If someone else knows how to
change this via firmware and/or hardware hack, please lemme know. I
heard of the method, but right now I just don't remember about it.
I would like to integrate a touchscreen with a daughter-board capable
for transmitting/receiving radio signals at around 260Mhz UHF. I would
appreciate any information on other cards of different specs. I started
designing a prototype time ago and left the work right on the desk due
time limitations. Now that I have some more spare hours, I would like to
get back to it.
Anyone here experienced with RF noise prevention? I think it's
definitely a must-be to isolate the electronics from the radio board, to
avoid any nasty interference.
As I've been out Gumstix-related work for a while, what's, right now,
the best option for touchscreen? I don't mind on coding kernel-land or
user-land, but I want to know first what other people are using out
there and works (mostly) out of the box. I don't a huge touchscreen in
fact, smaller than 800x600 is OK. Requirements as in hardware, Gumstix
related? I have the "old" Audiostix (<2) and the breakout-gs. This means
I'll have to use the breakout-gs for LCD and the audiostix for audio, as
it's the old one.
I thought on getting the GPSstix, but the price is rather high for just
an end-user. The Motorola OnCore was around 50 with interface and
magnetic-base antenna (huge one in fact).
BTW, how did the cluster project worked out?
Cheers and many thanks in advance,
